Why we use information

We may use personal information to respond to enquiries, communicate about carbon science, research or educational matters, operate and secure the website, investigate misuse and meet legal obligations.

Depending on the circumstances, our legal bases under UK GDPR may include legitimate interests, legal obligations or consent where required. Where a particular processing activity requires another legal basis, it will be identified as appropriate.

Website hosting, infrastructure, maintenance and security providers may process technical data on our behalf to deliver and protect CO2.services.

We do not sell website visitors' personal information to advertisers or commercial data brokers. Providers should handle personal data under applicable contractual and legal protections.

If optional analytics, embedded services or other non-essential technologies are introduced, we will review their use and provide information and consent controls where legally required. This policy does not itself confirm which technologies are active on a particular visit.

06

International processing

Hosting or service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where international transfers of personal data are subject to legal safeguards, EEESEF will seek to apply appropriate protections as required by applicable law.

07

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose, including handling correspondence, website security, institutional records and legal requirements.

EEESEF uses reasonable technical and organisational security measures. However, no internet transmission or electronic storage system is completely secure.
